The most successful businesses of today's world started out as little more than a simple dream. For example, Bill Gates dreamed of building a business that put a computer in every home in America, at a time when computers were both bulky and expensive.

Microsoft helped make that possible with the development of DOS and Windows. Had he never tried to make his dream a reality, who knows how differently computers would have developed.

Most others languages have one, but English does not. This can easily present problems if the people within a company are not careful.

Many times, people try to replace the plural pronouns of "they" or "their" in place of a gender-specific singular pronoun in an effort to try to make the pronoun gender-neutral. This does not work because it is not grammatically correct to use a plural pronoun in place of a singular pronoun.

Perhaps a child's parents are not fit to be parents and they will not use their child's health information for good purposes. This could be a very practical reason why a child would be careful who he or she gave their health information out to.

All this innovation can be traced back to one dream: put a computer in every home. The fruition of that dream has helped hasten the creation and improvement of the digital world.

It began the day that Bill Gates decided to act on his dream rather than leave it to his imagination. It started there and expanded.

As Bill worked to bring his dream to light, he had to trust it with others. No empire can be built by one person alone. The leader must have a task force of helpers to make the dream possible. Bill had to share his vision and entrust tasks to employees.

For most gender-specific words, there are usually a few alternatives you can use so that you do not have to use sexist language. Some people may not realize how important it is to not use sexist language in the workplace.

It may seem inconsequential, but you do not want to alienate anyone because of a word that you are using. You also do not want to undervalue the work someone is doing just because they are of one gender or the other.

When someone can't make decisions for themselves, they tend to lose an ability to direct their own life. This contributes to them losing a part of their identity as well.

It will work as a deeper form of compliance training than a list of rules ever could. Although you would still want to hold formal compliance training to explain the rules, spreading the dream gives them a "why" to all of those rules.

When they have the "why," they're more likely to follow the "what." Some of the most successful businessmen have followed this model.

They've turned their dreams into realities by sharing them with their employees. That changed how everyone worked and spread the image of the company throughout the world.
